Bernard Pomerance’s The Elephant Man is a play based on the life of John Merrick, a severely deformed man in Victorian London who is rescued from a sideshow by Dr. Frederick Treves. It explores humanity, dignity, and exploitation, as Merrick is integrated into high society but struggles to define his own identity and normality.

[1] 2026 Chicago Pride Parade
Sunday, 6/28/2026: Please leave extra time for travel and parking.
The Chicago Pride Parade's central hub bisects the route between Lake Shore Drive and our theater, making it extremely difficult (let's just say impossible) to get here on Belmont. Almost all roads will be busy, and parking will be scarce. Please leave plenty of time for travel and parking, or plan an alternate travel route on public transit.
